Kp Index screen with an on-device AI summary

In short

  • AI summaries on the Kp and Solar Wind screens can run privately on-device with Apple Intelligence (Pro).
  • Every summary says whether it was written on-device or in the cloud.
  • Siri answers aurora questions out loud and accounts for your location.
  • A new Apple Watch app for Pro, updated live from your iPhone.
  • A redesigned Weather screen with moon illumination.

Private AI summaries

Space weather numbers are hard to read at a glance. The Kp and Solar Wind screens now include a short, plain-English summary of what the data means for you tonight. On iPhones that support Apple Intelligence, the summary is written privately on your device. Each one is labelled so you can see whether it was made on-device or in the cloud.

Ask Siri about tonight's aurora

You can ask Siri about your aurora chances without opening the app. Siri answers out loud and takes your location into account.

An Apple Watch app for Pro

Pro subscribers get a dashboard on Apple Watch with Kp, solar wind, weather and upcoming changes, updated live from your iPhone. When you're standing in a dark field, a glance at your wrist is enough.

A new Weather screen, with the moon

The Weather screen has been redesigned and now shows moon illumination beside cloud cover, plus how many hours of darkness you have. A bright moon can wash out a faint aurora, so you can judge how dark your sky will really be.
